Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Acceptance and the Service

By creating an account or using Scriptyr, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Scriptyr is a serialised fiction platform offering written stories with optional multi-character voice narration, organised across genres, with free and paid subscription tiers.

Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Scriptyr account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at contact@scriptyr.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

Subscriptions, Credits and Payment

Scriptyr offers Free, Reader Pro, and Writer Studio subscription tiers, each with different features and pricing as described on our pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time from your account billing page, and cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Audio narration is billed using a credits system. Credits are consumed based on story length and are non-refundable and non-transferable except as required by law. We may offer additional credit top-up packs for purchase.

We may change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing. All payments are processed securely by Stripe; refunds are handled at our discretion, in accordance with applicable UK consumer law, and requests can be made at contact@scriptyr.com. This paragraph applies to readers and subscribers. Advertiser purchases are covered by the Advertising Terms below.

Advertising Terms

This section applies to businesses that purchase advertising placements on Scriptyr. By completing checkout, the advertiser accepts these Terms and confirms that the purchase is made for business purposes and not as a consumer. The consumer provisions elsewhere in these Terms, including those on subscriptions, credits and refunds, do not apply to advertiser purchases.

Each placement is a one-time purchase for a fixed 30-day period and does not renew automatically. Payment is due in full at checkout, before the placement goes live, and by completing checkout the advertiser authorises us to charge the amount shown. A placement is delivered once the advertiser's ad is live in the booked slot (genre and chapter position). We will confirm the go-live and end dates to the advertiser by email. We do not guarantee impressions, clicks, sales or any other result. Each placement includes a performance review showing how many times the ad was shown and how many clicks it received. The absence of any particular result is not a failure to deliver and is not grounds for a refund or dispute.

The advertiser may cancel in writing at contact@scriptyr.com for a full refund up to 7 days before the placement's start date. After that point, and once a placement is live, payments are non-refundable. If we fail to run a placement as booked and cannot offer replacement dates the advertiser accepts, we will refund the amount paid for that placement in full.

If the advertiser has any concern about a charge or placement, it agrees to contact us at contact@scriptyr.com within 14 days of the charge and to give us at least 10 business days to resolve it before contacting its bank or card provider. If the advertiser starts a chargeback or payment dispute for a delivered placement without first doing this, that is a breach of these Terms. We may then remove the ad and suspend the advertiser's account immediately, with no refund of any other sums paid; recover from the advertiser the disputed amount, any dispute or chargeback fees charged by our payment processor, and our reasonable costs of recovery, including legal costs; and refuse future bookings or require payment in full in advance. The advertiser agrees that we may give Stripe and the card issuer any records relevant to a dispute, including these Terms, the date and time of acceptance, booking and checkout records, correspondence, screenshots of the live ad, impression and click logs, and performance reviews.

The advertiser confirms that it owns, or holds all necessary licences and permissions for, every image, logo, character, text and other material in its ad, and that the ad does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property or break any law. The advertiser grants us a non-exclusive licence to display, reproduce and host that material on the platform for the duration of the placement. We may reject, edit or remove any ad that is unlawful, infringing, misleading, or unsuitable for a platform with readers aged 16 and over, at any time and without notice. A removal on these grounds is not a failure to deliver, and no refund is due. The advertiser is responsible for any claim brought against us because of its ad content and agrees to cover our reasonable costs arising from that claim.
